Appelman, Fredric S. 90; beloved husband for 71 years of the late Marilyn; loving father of Arlene Alpert, Joel (Sherry) Appelman, and Eric Appelman; cherished grandfather of Kenneth (Amy) Alpert and Douglas Appelman; proud great-grandfather of Evan and Emma Alpert. He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was a WWII Veteran in the 75th Division and fought at the Battle of the Bulge. Fred was the proud owner of the A & A Mobil Mart in Skokie for 30 years. He helped to found the Yonnie Cohen Heart Foundation. Fred was an avid fisherman and Chicago sports fan. Funeral Service Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette. Interment Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, www.kidneyfund.org. For info: 847-256-5700.
