Memories and Condolences
for Conner Lowry

Not sure what to say?

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and to also let the Lowery Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

Modie,
I have only begun to know your son through his tradegy. However, what I have gathered from the tremendous tributes, loving words and inspirational stories is that he was an outstanding man. His courage, commitment and dedication was absolutely incredible. I was so glad to hear his humor kept those around him laughing, something I know was a true blessing and gift from his Mom! May God bless you and your family during the many days ahead. Thank you Mods for bringing a boy into this world who became a brave and courageous man who committed his life to keeping us all safe.

I wish I had the right words to say at this time, but I know there are none. I grieve for the loss of your beloved son and I know that I cannot fathom the pain you must be feeling. Rest in peace Conner.
We met just once on your visit to Limerick in 2002 and I hoped we would meet again in future years and maintain the tradition of close contact between our families - which your Dad Tom was so passionate about keeping alive. My brother Dermot has fond memories of attending a hurling match with you at Gaelic Park during his summer in Chicago in 2000 and I remember a smiling friendly boy who couldn't have been more proud of his Irish roots.

You'll definitely be remembered on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean as a great Irish-American hero. Your many relatives in Ireland are saddened by your passing but immensely proud that you have made the ultimate sacrifice for the good of humanity.

Your motherland never forgets fallen soldiers. Our National Anthem "Amhran na bhFiann - The Soldier's Song" is evidence of that and the story of your bravery and sacrifice will be passed down from generation to generation in "The Old Country" .

My deepest sympathies go out to Conner's Mum and his nearest and dearest family and friends. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

To a fallen hero. You shall never be forgotten.

"You may be gone from this world, but your spirit will live forever. It lives in the laughing eyes of children who are free from want and opression. It lives in the bravery and conviction of those who still struggle with liberty. And it lives in your friends and family. For they promise to cherish every breath of freedom that you paid the ultimate price to secure. We ask only that we might be granted a small fraction of your courage and strength to face the challenges in our lives with an honor and dignity worthy of your legacy. May you rest in eternal peace with the knowledge that your sacrifice was not made in vain."

so sorry for your loss. I did not know Conner but I know people who do. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. May he rest in peace; he may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.

March 11, 2012

I do not know the Lavin or Lowry family but as the mother of a fellow soldier who served in Afghanistan, also as a Gunner, my heart is breaking for your family. All of our worst fears have been your ultimate sacrifice and even though I did not suffer the ultimate loss, I hurt horribly for those who have. I know, as a mother of a soldier, that those kids of ours who follow the call are a very special breed and it is heartbreaking that they are the ones who we lose to this godforsaken war.
I'm sure that my sharing your grief does not bring you consolation but rest assured that Connor is in good company, and in time we will all be up there to thank him personally for his service. For now, I thank you, his family, for enduring the ache in your heart. My thoughts will be with you for a long, long time.

The tragedy of war is we lose great men and women that serve their country. I can not express my deepest regret for the loss of CPL Lowry. I have lost a brother at arms, but that pales in comparison to the loss his family and close friends are feeling. CPL Lowry, will not be forgotten.

I stood on 103rd street for the procession after the funeral today. An older man next to me stood with a large flag and saluted the entire procession. I went up to him after and said, you must be a veteran to which he answered yes, I just said thank you! He said "this is so sad" and with tears I said yes, it is. Conner is too young to be at peace, but it is God's will. Please know so many, including those who don't know your family, like me, are so grateful for Conner! Be so proud of him and yourselves! I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Conner will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .

I Salute You.
