What I know of the church, I learned from my parents and Father Gaydos. He was a direct speaking, compassionate man and a wonderful priest. Knowing he is gone makes this world that much the less. He will be greatly missed.

Father Gaydos came to my fifth grade class at St. Teresa school in Chicago in 1959 in full Servite habit and gave us a vocation talk. Talked about Servites dedicated and founded by Our Lady of Sorrows. He got me interested in the priesthood. I corresponded often with him about Servites, but ended up at the diocesan minor seminary. He instilled an interest in the priesthood for me and a lifelong devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows. He was a great priest and Servite. May he eternally enjoy his reward with Our Lord and his Mother of Sorrows.
