Andrew Adam Obituary
Adam, Andrew M. "Andy" On June 10, 2017, Andrew Martin Adam received healing and eternal grace. Andy lived a life of conquering. If you were to ask Andrew what his greatest accomplishments were he would tell you it was marrying the love of his life, Kathryn Anleitner Adam and raising Nicole and Jason Adam. His biggest smiles were inspired by his grandchildren, Dominic, Vincent, the late Victor, Lucas and Gianna. But if you asked the world, his world, what his greatest accomplishments were they would be his entire life. Andy's life began atypical. Some stories would talk about a childhood in hospitals, but the stories Andy would tell were the wheelchair races, pranks on the nurses and late night shenanigans. When Andy was in his twenties he became a bilateral amputee. While some stories would end there and become a story of tribulation, Andy always focused on the triumphs. He wrote his own story, beat to his own drum and never let anything but his own desires drive the force of his life. Andy became not only active, but a thriving leader in both Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of America. He was inducted into the Order of the Arrow. He ran several of his own companies most notably as a plastics broker and an Independent Reliv Distributor. But most of all, he "ran" his family with a fierce love. There were no limitations to Andy. A medical file somewhere may have stated limitations, but Andy lived with no limitations. He taught all of those around him that you are your greatest limiter. That life is a beautiful gift and to live it. If Andy were to tell us one thing today it would be to live our lives and love. He leaves behind the love of his life and wife of 39 years, Kathryn Anleitner. He was the proud father of Nicole (Matt) Skaro and Jason Adam and heroic grandfather of Dominic, Vincent, the late Victor, Lucas and Gianna. Preceded in death by his parents, Antoinette (Mastantuono) and Andy Adam. He is fondly remembered by his brother Wayne (Nadine) Adam and his Anleitner and Mastantuono family members. Life will be different without Andy, the pillar of his family. However, we will look into the future and smile knowing his legacy lives on in us and his love for us. Visitation Monday 3:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Tuesday 10:15 a.m. from the Curley Funeral Home (Heeney-Laughlin Directors), 6116 W. 111th St., Chicago Ridge to Incarnation Church.
