Wisniewski, Sylvester E. 89, of Naples, FL passed away January 12, 2014. Born in Chicago, he was the son of Stanislaw and Helena (nee Buda) Wisniewski. An honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Navy, Sylvester served in the Asiatic-Pacific area from 19421946. Following his military service, he served as a City of Chicago Police Officer from 19551981, retiring from the Police Department. Sylvester is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Anne (nee Maringer); his daughter, Joyce (Robert) Kment; his grandchildren of whom he was so very proud, Kenneth, James, Daniel, and Michael; seven beautiful great-grandchildren; and his brothers, John (Gertrude) and Chester. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved son, Kenneth Wisniewski; and his brothers and sisters, Stanley, Edward, Joan Calzaretta, and Rose Bryla. A prayer service will be held on Saturday, March 1st at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Resurrection Cemetery 7201 Archer Ave., Justice, IL 60458 with interment and military honors following.
