TerMaat, Shirley M. Of Delray Beach, Florida passed away on August 23, 2013. She and her beloved husband, the late Peter J. TerMaat, were longtime residents of Chicago. Shirley was born to the late Alexander and Loretta Piotrowski on May 25, 1949. She is survived by her sister, Beverly Hudson (Paul); her niece, Elizabeth; and nephew, Alex. Shirley graduated from Morton High School-West in 1967 and received a BA in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1971. Shirley had a distinguished career with Northern Trust Company for eleven years and then owned the successful City Garden florist. She volunteered to help other travelers with Travelers Aid Chicago. Shirley loved her Florida home and the companionship of her cat, Leonardo. A memorial lunch will be held on November 2, 2013 at Maggiano's, 240 Oakbrook Center, Oak Brook, IL 60523 at noon.
