Fredlund, Oke E. Age 90, a lifelong resident of Chicago, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 28, 2012. Born in 1921 in Stockholm, Sweden, Oke came to the United States as an infant with his parents, Otto Emil and Greda. He served in the Pacific during World War II as a member of Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 11th Airborne Division. Oke retired in 1983, after 40 years with Iron Workers Local Union #1. Survivors include beloved wife of 42 years, June; children Diane, Robert and James, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
