Davis, Marcia Elaine (nee Netherland) Was born into this life on October 17, 1943, to Roy and Gwendolyn Netherland in Knoxville, Tennessee. She accepted Christ at seven years old and later joined Maryland Avenue Baptist Church where she was a faithful member for over fifty years. She was united in marriage on June 28, 1964, to Attorney Walton Davis, Jr. To their union was born three daughters, Attorney Adrienne E. Davis, Dr. Lisa Richardson (Raynardo) and Reverend Victoria Hays. Marcia worked for Chicago Public Schools as a teacher for 33 years and retired in 2012. After a lengthy battle with breast cancer, Marcia was born into eternity on May 10, 2014. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of forty-nine years and eleven months, Walton; daughters and sons-in-law; grandchildren, Alyssia Hays, Asia Hays, Aaryn Hays, Emmanuel Richardson, and David Richardson; sisters, Aleece Stewart and Anora Edwards; sisters-in-law, Gloria Baker (Phillip), Carolyn Davis-Sheffey; and a host of nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, Godchildren and grand-Godchildren. Visitation will be held at Leak and Sons Funeral Home, 18400 South Pulaski Road, Country Club Hills, Illinois on Friday, May 16, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Celebration of life will be held at Maryland Avenue Baptist Church on Saturday, May 17, 2014, wake at 10:17 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, 1035 East 67th St., Chicago, Illinois.
