Garfi, Joseph J. "Joey" Age 54, native of Bridgeview, IL and Fullerton, CA. Dearest son of the late Joseph S. Garfi, and Theodora P. (nee Pukis); beloved brother of Judith Garfi-Partridge, Patricia (Gary) Johnson, Pamela (David) Dunn, Debra Garfi, and Lawrence Garfi; fond uncle of 7 nephews and 2 nieces; great-uncle of 4. Proud participant of the Special Olympics, including the inaugural 1968 International Special Olympics at Soldier Field. An avid sports fan, he was present at almost every home game of the LA Angels and the Anaheim Ducks for over a decade. Family and friends will remember his love of dressing up as Santa Claus (year-round), prolonged toasts at family dinners, and singing anytime he heard a catchy tune. Joey's charm and bright personality made lasting impressions on everyone he met. Visitation Sunday, June 29, 2014, 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice, Illinois. Funeral Monday, June 30, 2014, 9:00 a.m. prayers from the funeral home to Saint Fabian Church, 83rd and Oketo Ave., Bridgeview, Illinois for 10:00 a.m. Mass.
