Norman Craig Obituary

Craig, Norman Edward 80, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013. He was born to the late James Craig and Hallie Dorsch Craig on August 16, 1932 in Evanston, IL. Norm briefly attended Eastern Illinois University, where he met the love of his life, Jeannine Mota Hendricks. Engaged within a month, they married shortly thereafter on April 20, 1952. Their marriage spanned over 61 loving years. During his life, Norm served in the U.S. Army, participated as a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts, and had a long career with the electric company, Commonweath Edison. He was well respected and a leader among his peers. Norman enjoyed traveling the country and his family. He was an avid reader and a talented woodcarver. Norm is survived by his wife, Jeannine; a brother, Richard (Barbara) Craig of Grayslake, IL; a son, James (Gaynette) Craig of Marengo, IL; three daughters, Jacqualyn (Michael) Holtz of Cary, IL, Kathleen (Beverly) Craig of Cary, IL, and Peggy (Nancy) Craig of Columbia, MO; seven grandchildren, Jason, Kirsten, Michelle, Thomas, Daniel, Amy, and Megan; four great-grandchildren, Jasmine, James, Autumn, and Syerra; as well as many more loved ones. He was preceded in death by his infant brother, Charles Dorsch Craig; a son, Daniel Edward Craig; and a great-granddaughter, Fairyn Tallison Craig. A memorial service will be held in Cary, IL at a later date to share our love and memories of Norm. Norm has left a strong legacy impacting all those he met. He will be sorely missed and thought of often. Don't worry Gramps, we will always "keep it between the ditches." Condolences can be sent by visiting www.debofuneralhome.com.
