Dr. Kevin Reitsma was our family Dr. for many years. I just inquired about him today and was shocked to hear this news. His staff at Frankfort office always gave me the last appointment of the day because we always ended the visit talking about our families. We were given a challenge on my job to see if we could convince our Dr. to write a RX to go out and enjoy the outside when your feeling down. Dr. R came through for me. Yes, I was the first employee to turn this RX in! Have missed our talks for so long. I can tell the family, he was very proud of all of you. Sorry for your loss..

Long before Kevin was Dr Reitsma, he made a change that affected his and many other lives. Kevin joined the Peotone Fire Department and spent countless hours training to fight fires and save lives as a fireman and paramedic. I had the privilege of joining at the same time and becoming a paramedic with him. He was one of those rare people who could arrive on the scene, keep his cool and manage the situation. I also worked with Kevin at OFOMC where he met Patty. Both amazing people who gave more than most. I wish I had had more contact with Kevin in recent years, but when we did talk, he was still the same person he was years earlier. I'll miss him for who he was and for what he did. For all of the people who's lives he touched, they are better for it. To Patty and his children, my deepest condolences. I'm a better person for having known him.
God speed Kevin.

Our deepest condolences to you, Pat, Maggie and Luke. We first met Kevin at HF Soccer Club when Maggie and our daughter Gina (or was it Anna?) played together. We were happy when he joined WellGroup a few years later. He was a good physician, and good guy all around. Our prayers are with you all.

My heart is broken for your entire family. Dr. Reitsma was one of the kindest people I ever encountered. His professional skills were something that you no longer receive in a doctor's office ... He never made you feel like he was in a hurry. He talked, asked questions, made me feel truly cared for. He loved his family ... So proud of his children. We talked "kids" so many times. My heart is broken for you ... Heaven has one heck of a guy.

Dr. Reitsma was my MD for several years and he was always in a great mood and had a kind word to say. He always had a few extra minutes to just have a conversation instead of flying out of the room at the first chance. He was a wonderful Doctor and a great person. Rest in Peace.
