Memories and Condolences
for Joseph Aurelio

Sponsored by Joey, Sue, Amy, Lori Aurelio.

Not sure what to say?

Dearest Nita, Suzy, Lori, Joey and Amy,

I was feeling sentimental tonight about our good old times at "The Dunes" as kids and just decided to Google your last name. Do you guys remember all the times we ran around the dunes and the beach like a crew of monkeys and those terrific BBQ's on the lawn. I still remember how nice your Dad was and how much my Dad liked to sit and talk with him. Unfortunately, your Dad's times with us at "The Dunes" were few because he always seemed to be tied up, working the pizza place and growing the business. I'm touched by all the lovely condolences your Dad has received. Sorry my message comes to you so many years late, but I remember having pizza at the original restaurant as a child. We stopped on the way home from "The Dunes" and I still remember that your Dad came out from the kitchen and sat down and chatted with us. He was truly a lovely man, always jolly and always smiling. I tried to come to the restaurant for your Dad's memorial gathering but got called out of town on business, so please accept this late note of remembrance and sympathy.

I got a telephone number from Veronika for you Nita, but there never seems to be any answer or opportunity to leave a VM. It's probably an old number. I called the pizza place and asked for someone in the family to speak with a couple times but they tell me no one is there. I's love to get together one day if just to talk about the good old days when we were young and our parents were young and vital.

Miss my "adoptive grandparents", the Rakauskas' and also miss Uncle Mike and Auntie Ann so much. I've been decorating their graves every summer and for Christmas since my Mom passed away in 2003 and Dad followed her in 2004 . . . they are all buried in the same cemetery now and I sure hope they've found some sun and dunes to carry on "our family" tradition in heaven.

I know it's late in the game here now, but please reach out and let's get together . . . time is flying like crazy.

Love you guys,
"Cousin" Linda Uznys

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.

My wife and I would go to Joe's original location on Ridge Rd on Friday or Saturday nites --- as anyone knew -- THE MOSTTTT crowded nites of the week and wait in lines that were 60-75 mins long. We did not care. If U weren't willing to wait, then the pizza wasn't very good. But no matter how.busy Joe was in seating the massive crowd, he would ALWAYS sit and visit with my wife and me for at least 5-6 mins BC he knew we had driven from Highland. Joe Aurelio was THE VERY BEST part of AURELIO'S PIZZA. God Bless you Joe for the Greatest Pizza on this Planet and for the SENSE OF COMMUNITY YOU brought "to us " all.

Sue was a good friend of mine in the 80's and she always spoke very well of you. In fact, from our long talks, you reminded me of my grandfather who I adored. Unfortunately, I never got to meet you Joe but I sure loved your pizza.

Thank you for leaving us with a happy place to gather and celebrate with loved ones. You have given us without a doubt the greatest pizza of all time. And if that doesn't amount to immortality I don't know what does. All of your hard labor and determination paid off.

Mr. Joe was one of a kind, a visionary for his day with his wonderful pizza, his upholding of family and traditions and his kindness to all. The neighborhood back in his early days came, saw, tasted, and....came back, again and again! He will be missed, and we send loving thoughts to his family who will miss his wonderful smile as well as his threats to his staff to "make the pizza right!"!!!

His pizza was, and is still amazing. I recall well how kind Joe was. He always had a minute (or 30 seconds) to come away from a hot oven and say hi. I played for the Aurelio's Pony League team in 69, and we were a bunch of 13 year olds playing in a 13-15 year old league. Joe encouraged all of us, loss after loss! I was between Lori and Sue in the class of 74 but remember they were very classy and nice young ladies. Joe has such a unique place in the hearts and minds of so many!

I have a great many fond memories of Aurelio's Pizza, as do the many members of our extended family. My first memory of Joe Auerelio dates from 1961 when we first moved to Homewood. Even as a little kid I was impressed to see such a young guy--Joe was still in his twenties--who was both "large and in charge" and yet so approachable and friendly. Better still, his pizza was and remains the best I ever tasted.

Through the years I've converted more than one NYC pizza snob to Aurelio's, the world's greatest pizza and the friendliest restaurant around.

God bless and take care. --Denny Bruno

I grew up in Olympia Fields, Illinois. Ever since I was a little child, the biggest treat would be to go to the original Aurelio's Pizza in Homewood. I remember standing at the counter watching Joe work. He always smiled at me. He was polite and always thanked me for coming in to eat. When we would order a pizza for take out, I could never wait until we got home to eat the pizza. My Mom would get angry at me for eating in the car, but I could never wait to get home to start eating. When I dated in High School, Aurelio's was the place I always wanted to go on a date. Joe would always come around to everyone and thank them for coming in to eat. He was one of the nicest men I've ever met. His daughters were known as some of the most beautiful girls in High School. After graduating High School and moving away, no pizzamaker could ever come close to Joe's pizzas. None are comparable. The way he cooked his sausage, and the little cheese texture over the top of the pizzas were amazing. I've since lived in Alaska, California, and all around the Chicago suburbs. No one in the entire whole wide world can make a pizza better than Aurelio's. I still want to go back and visit the Homewood Aurelio's Pizza more than anything. With much love and happy memories of a really honest, good man, who lives in our hearts forever. Lori Peck

I had my first date with my future husband at Aurelio's on Ridge Road 6/66. Doug Malizia introduced me to Joe. Years later I became an RN and took care of Joe while a patient at St. Francis HOspital in Blue Island. Then we became friends while I was his nurse in the CHF Clinic and had coffee every Tuesday. I knew that December day when Joe didn't meet me for our Coffee I would never see him again. I miss his friendship.

I grew up hearing about how wonderful Aurelio's pizza was, and how proud it was to be an Aurelio... I am also an Aurelio... Angelina Marie Aurelio (Thornton) and although I am married I am and will always be extremely proud of being an Aurelio, which was instilled into me, by my father, Frank A. Aurelio Jr. who unforturnantly we recently lost a year and a half ago. He was a top chef and past the love of cooking on to me, and my little brother Michael Anthony Aurelio, along with our sisters jessica Lynn Aurelio (Molnar) and Michelle Dian Aurelio, And 10 grand-babies and a grand-son... the future (Michael Frank Anthony Aurelio) on the way. My dad told us stories of the Aurelio family and our legacy and was probably one of the proudest men of who he was and where he came from I've ever ment in my life, and he died that way. And with the stories we were told I know that joseph must had been a great man and obviously a man who could make a great pie... I know how much I miss my father, and know the great pain and loss you feel by losing Joseph. And I never got the chance to meet any of our family in Chicago, but I hope one day to visit if only once in my life. I hope that they all are resting in peace together... And again, I do hope to visit someday and eventually meet a few of my family members in that area. Peace + Love = Happiness... And I hope all that and more for you and our family... with all my Love and greatest sympothy to all of you.

Grew up in Homewood eating Aurelio's Pizza. Moved to Texas and can't find pizza like that. Brought my wife for the first time back home to Homewood and had your pizza! She said "that was what pizza is supposed to taste like!" Any other pizza just wont compare! Thanks for all the years. Classmate of Lori.

My Dad owned the Royal Blue Grocery store on Ridge Rd. As a High School student I worked many hours at the store. It was always a treat to stop in for a pizza, roast beef sandwich, or just a cup of "Joe" and chat with Joe. Nice guy, always a smile.
Even though most of the family lives in CA. we still occationally have a pizza or two mailed out to us. Never had a better one.
Our condolences to the family.

My family grew up just around the corner on Greenbriar Avenue from the Aurelio's on Homewood Court in Chicago Heights. In fact, my mother, Lucille Lacheta, still lives on Greenbriar Ave. in the Heights and speaks fondly of memories of Anne and Joe Jr. Joe, Jr. and family always made us feel welcome when we came to the Homewood restaurant for a meal. She remembers Anne calling out from the kitchen, "Hi, Lucy" when we would come in. Thanks to Joe, Jr. and his family and legacy. Ed Lacheta, currently of Shelbyville, IL>

I grew up in Homewood and Aurelio's was a weekend treat for us. After growing up and moving to SD we came back for a visit with our new baby and Joe gave our little daughter a Aurelio's t-shirt and he sat and visited with us. What a sweet person he was. My sympathy to the family.

I worked at Olympia Fields Country Club in the late 70s and early 80s, where Joe and his family were members. He was a very nice man! I remember going to the restaurant in Homewood many times as a teenager, it was always crowded because it's the best pizza around! I'm lucky enough to have a carry-out location near my home. We're having Aurelio's tonight!

I had heard that Joe passed a number of years ago and was just remembering my youth and decided to look up Aurelio's Pizza on line and lo and behold i found this great site about Aurelio's. Growing up Homewood did not have Pizza until Joe opened on Ridge Road. My high school buddies at the time [ Dennis Dee, George Stine, Gerry Luzi ] and many others were among Joe's first patrons and wow what an experience. In fact it was at Joe's that I had my very first taste of Pizza of any kind !! The sausage Pizza along with his beef and sauage sandwiches were just superb, nothing like them anywhere. I have not been back to Homewood in years but rest assured that when I do, my first stop will be Aurelio's Pizza. Bob White Class of 1961 H.F. H.S.

My family loved going to the Homewood Aurelio's. We have so many memories--exquisite food, wonderful service & many fun evenings post H-F games. Thank you for keeping up the tradition. Was saddened to hear of your loss. It's been almost ten years since my mother passed. We still miss her too.
Am going to Vegas next month. Can I say it's mainly because they now have an Aurelio's?!

My father first dined at Mr. Aurelio's restaurant in Homewood back in the early 70's. He has lived in southern Illinois and Indiana since then, and hadn't had a chance to get back up there until last week. We stopped at Aurelio's in Bourbonnaise on the way to NRTC Great Lakes, and my Dad said it was just as good as it was 30 years ago. I'm stationed in Wichita, and it was well worth the drive for me - we'll be back. Thank you for your wonderful legacy, Mr. Aurelio.

Aurelio's is my favorite pizza place & has been since the early 70's when they were in their original location. I went to H-F with "Little Joe" and remember getting a pizza at least once a week forever. I moved away long ago first to Dallas and now Santa Fe. My brother lives in Homewood though and sends me the greatest Christmas present every year - yes! pizza from Aurelio's. He asked me recently if that was still a good gift and I replied "as long as I am able to eat solid food, you bet!". Whenever I return for a visit dinner at Aurelio's is a must. Thanks for all the great pizza and memories. Keep 'em comin'!!

I loved the man, caddied for him at the local country club, was always nice to those around him and there at his restaurants(the way an owner should be present). Traveled to Denver, on business, ordered auerilo's pizza. Brought back some great memories. Thanks to the family for keeping the tradition alive.

I've enjoyed Aurelio's pizza for long time and I'm very sorry for your loss.
On an intersting note I have been doing some genealogy research and was wondering if the Aurelios came from a town in Italy called Albidona. Some of my family came from there and there are many Aurelios in that town, some that married into my family. If you have any information please feel free to contact me. Please forgive my inquiry at this sad time.
Thanks, Paul

I tell all my friends about "Aurelio's, the best pizza in the World!" I'm sorry to hear about Mr. Aurelio and would like to express my sincere condolences to the family. I grew up in Homewood and Aurelio's was our high school hang out. Every time I come home I have to get a pie. True story, I was telling a coworker about the Naples franchise while on a long distance critical care transport. We were north of the location and had dropped off our patient. I called because my partner wanted to try "The best pizza in the World." The person answering said we close in 18 minutes and you guys are way too far away, little did he know we were in an ambulance. I can honestly say in 15 years, this was the only time that I've abused the privlege of having a siren and emergency lights. Needless to say, we got there before closing and I created another Aurelio's addict. Thanks Joe.

My family and I still think about Joe every time we visit Aurelio's in Homewood... my childhood pizza parlor. All I know is if there is such a thing as reincarnation, I want to come back as a restauranteur like Joe Aurelio. I just read these pages, and what an incredible repository of love and respect they are! My family moved away from Homewood a long time ago, but I still remember a great restaurant and a nice family. What a legacy you left, Joe.

And sorry Joe if I ever contributed to your stress. I blame it all on those crazy 70's.

Very, very sorry about this loss - sorry to be so far behind time-wise, but we moved away 37 years ago. I had the dance studio upstairs of Joe's Ridge Rd location - he told me once later that they really got a healthy start because of students' families going downstairs for pizza after classes. We remember the Aurelio girls, Lori and Susan, and even saw one of them in AZ. Best to the family.

I have fond memories of eating Aurelio's Pizza....my dad had a big dance studio just above the Ridge Rd. restaurant in the 60s. The aromas would float up the stairs, and Mom would send me down to pick up the pizza for our dinner.

I echo every thought expressed in this Guest Book for Joe Aurelio from its 1st entry on Dec 19, 2001, to the most recent. Since my younger daughter Ashley just accepted a management position with Kimberly-Clark at its Minneapolis Regional Heaquarters, on a weekend visit in mid July with her we took the opportunity to eat 2 times at the Aurelio's Pizza in Roseville, Minnesota. The pizza was superb. We could not discern the difference between the "Homewood" pizza and the "Roseville" pizza.

Sorry it took so long to thank you Joe for so many great pizzas especially Super Six, the best thin pizza ever made at any price. I have enjoyed so many at the North Hammond Aurelio's in addition to the one here in Munster and before that in Schererville. I have of course been to the mother restaurant also in da Region in beautiful downtown Homewood and it is special. That is where I feel your spirit the most even though I have never met you. I know that you are eating one now in Heaven since that is what I experience ever time I have a slice. God bless.

Well what was a weekend if you didn't taste an Aurelios pizza? I was fortunate to go to college that had one and I made sure that everyone I knew at College experienced what I did growing up in Flossmoor. Even though the nearest Aurelios is 30 miutes away, we always find away to pick up a couple of pies a month. I have a few clients in NY and I have sent your Pizza a number of times and even though it is not the "old oven" they still think it is the best they have had..Thanks for the memories Joe!

Ever since I was little I can remember going to an Aurelio's restaraunt with my grandparents. There was always that "special ingredient" that had us curious, and the pizzas were so good they kept us coming back. When I went to college I even was able to find an Aurelio's and was in heaven. Now I am a good 45 minutes from any Aurelio's, it's so sad that I have to wait for a special occasion to drive all the way back to have a few slices of that heaven I remember.
Thank you Aurelio's for the memories and the pizza!

I am living in Frankfort, IL for the last 34 years and love going to Aurelio's pizza. I remember when they were in town before the fire, it was the greatest. We had so much fun and the food was great. Joseph A. Aurelio Jr. was a great man and will long be remember for being who he was and for bringing us Aurelio's pizza. It is sad when someone so nice like Joe leaves us but he will be in our hearts forever.

More than a decade ago, there was an Aurelio's, basically, across the street. Our family would go there 2-4x per month (usually on Friday). The pizza was one of the greatest! Unfortunately, they closed that location.

However, I have learned that there is one location in Minnesota (Roseville). To celebrate my birthday today, the family and I are reliving the experience!!!

Here's to a great pizza, Joe! I know you would have wanted me to say "Joe sent me". God bless.

From the entire Sladcik, West & Pisano Family we thank you Joe and will miss having a man with such sprit, wealth of humor and sense of family in our world. Your first restaurant was one of the first dates my parents went on together and Joe told my dad not to lose this one, that she was special and from that moment on history was made to be followed by an army of Aurelio’s pizza lovers. You and your family have been host to many of our family’s celebrations and we can't thank you enough. Now that our family is spread across the country we look at our times in your families restaurants in Homewood IL, Munster IN and now Naples FL with the fondest of memories and with just a bite of your world class pizza you bring us right back together in sprit. Thank you Joe and our thanks to the entire Aurelio's family you are truly a great American Family and you should know that you were all loved so very much by a man that could not have been more proud of his family.

I visited a friend from Chicago 2 years ago and the first resteraunt he took me to was Aurelios! It was awesome. This same friend visits me twice a year in Kansas and brings me fresh frozen made pizzas from chicago to fill up my freezer. If I have company over they want an Aurelios pizza. Thanks for the frozen option!

Dear Joe-
Rest in Peace, brother. Mission accomplished. As a professional chef of 28 years, I hold your pizza as the standard of excellence to which all others aspire. I grew up in Hazel Crest and remember many nights at the original location on Ridge Road. I remember the pizza being so hot that I had to peel off the top and let it cool before I could eat it. It was, in a sense, my first culinary epiphany. Both sides tasted great!! Over the years, the magic has not left. I just ordered a couple of pies from the Frankfort store and the smile never leaves my face. What can you say? Cream rises. Excellence has it's rewards and I'm glad to be on the receiving end. Thanks for all your hard work.

I just wanted you to know that the name "Aurelios" is synonymous with good memories for me during the years following high school. I used to play men's league hockey at H-F Ice arena, and my team mates and I would almost always head over to your restaurant in Homewood after our games. We had so many laughs in your establishment, plus I always enjoyed looking at the baby pictures in the lobby as we'd wait for our table. RIP, sir.

Hello Aurelio Family,
I enjoyed Aurelio's pizza for the first time in 1972 as an 8-yr. old Brownie Scout from Serena Hills Elementary School, Chicago Heights, IL. Joe Aurelio kindly and generously hosted our troop for a pizza dinner. It was my first pizzeria experience and I'll remember it always, because Mr. Aurelio gave us a tour of your first location, talked about the pizza business and afterward we enjoyed a huge sausage w/extra cheese. From that day forward, my best friend always made it a point to grab the steaming middle piece of an Aurelio's pizza - proclaiming it to be the 'best part of the best pizza in the world'. Well, we got a big laugh when Mr. Aurelio had to assist her with the lip & chin burn she received trying out this theory. . .Thru high school, college, adulthood, raising children of our own . . .my family always comes back to the Homewood location whenever we visit Chicago. It's been a family tradition for over 35 years to get to that coveted middle piece of an Aurelio's pizza. Thanks for keeping it delicious and for keeping it consistently real for all these years! New York, Boston, Chicago, or DC . . .Aurelio's remains the absolute best in the world. God Bless Joe & Family!

Wish there was still an Aurelio's in Arizona. Grew up in Harvey, ILL Played hockey with Joey and loved your pizza. We now live in AZ and look for Aurelio's Pizza every place we go. We go the the Bourbonais location when we go back home and go to the Henderson location every time we go to Vegas. Thanks for spoiling us.

I remember my mother taking me to Aurelio's in Homewood when I was a kid. When we moved away from Homewood, that was one of the things I remember her mentioning she missed the most. She didn't drive and we were too far for delivery, however when I got my license and we were in the area we always took the opportunity to stop in. I have always loved the warm feeling and great food. My favorite is the spinich pizza - Aurelio's is the only place I will order it from. My mother passed a few years ago and when my family and I got together to decide where to go after the funeral - we all decided on Aurelio's because we knew this was one of her favorite places. Thank you for the memories, when I taste the food I am home again.

By far ... the best pizza I've had yet ... and trust me I've had a lot of pizza from many places ... I've worked for a few of Aurelio's owners and I couldn't have done the work for a nicer family ... If I could I'd recommend as many people to Aurelio's as possible and trust me I try ... "Thank you" to every team member of Aurelio's!!!

My first job was working for your dad. It was one of the crazier decisions he made as a businessman, to keep me on the payroll. I remember all of you around the restaurant, and I still use skills and lessons I learned there. Everyone loves the pizza, of course, but I learned, early on, the success of business is in the teamwork. Your dad was a natural leader and motivator. He treated me well, and I was proud to work for your family through high school. I appreciated knowing all of you, including your grandmother and grandfather. I'm sorry for the loss of this man, and wish continued success to the family. I would have written this sooner if I'd realized I had an opportunity to send you this note, this way.

My family has eaten at Aurelio's since they first open their doors. My father owned a deli in Homewood and for years Saturday night was Aurelio's night. As a teenager it was always a treat to go for pizza. And as an adult Aurelio's is how I judge all other's. Joe lives on with all of us.

I lived in the HF area while in high school and moved away after college.{1972} I have lived all over the world but there is never been a pizza like Aurelio's. When my nephew who lives in AZ, who also grew up in Homewood ,told me you could have pizza sent to you I was
more than excited. I have it sent to our house a couple times a year and it is still the best and brings back great memories.I sure wish I could visit a franchise near me. Thanks for the best pizza and making my family understand what I have been talking about for all these years.

I used to work at the Homewood location from 1979-1984 as a busboy. I have very fond memories of Joe, and Aurelio's. I am deeply saddened by his loss. I have great respect for him, and the impact he had on my life. I will always appreciate his encouragement, and the support he provided for me during my first year in College. I always make sure when ever I am in Illinois that I stop by Aurelio's in Homewood to enjoy the best pizza around!! Thanks for the great memeories, your kindness, and generosity.

With great respect,

I have such found memories of Aurelio's pizza ever since my youth. We would go there every chance we get whether for family functions, after school functions, dates, etc. We celebrate all special occassions there and I love the way the staff always seems to be pleasant and friendly. One of my many best memories with Aurelo's is when I returned home from the U.S. Army in 1985. The FIRST thing I wanted was Aurelio's pizza in Homewood (because it is the original one and I am picky on my pizza; Aurelios in Homewood or nothing).
When I arrived there a friend introduced me to Joey who was very good to me and gave me a free picture of beer to welcome me home from service. Ever since then when I see Joey he has always said hello and occassional bought me a beer. Though I have not been there at Aurelios for while, do to a move, I was hoping that I would find Joey (and hoped he still recognized me) and buy him a beer to thank him and his family on all the good memories Aurelio's has given me. Joey, thank you and my condolences to the Aurelios family on your loss.

I LOVE YOUR PIZZA! It is the best in the world, second to none!
Thank you Aurelios family for giving such a specail and beautiful pizza place for all of us to enjoy!!!

I am 37 years old now, and lived in Illinois most of my life. I now live in Tennessee and tell EVERYONE about how great Aurelio's Pizza is, and that if they ever visit Illinois (especially the Homewood, IL. restaurant), that they HAVE to try their pizzas. Ever since I was VERY young, our family (which most is still in Illinois and enjoying the pizza there, in Homewood especially because we eat there for EVERY occasion and ALWAYS sit in the center top section of the restaurant) has ALWAYS ate NOTHING but Aurelio's Pizza. Your pizza CANNOT be beat. I don't care what ANYONE says. I even tell friends and family that I am SO mad that noone has opened a franchise in my area. PLEASE DO NOT EVER stop making those pizzas, OR close ANY of your franchises, ESPECIALLY Homewood, IL. Thank you for ALL the wonderful memories that you and your family have given to me and my family throughout the years.

I moved to the Glenwood/Homewood area from Chicago in 1967 after my youngest brother Eric was born.

My parents, brothers: Marc and Eric and I dined at the small Aurelio's Pizza Parlor on Ridge Road frequently, beginning in 1968 when I was 7, Marc was 6 and Eric was just a baby! Teenagers "hung out" at Aurelio's and "cranked up" good old 60's rock and roll music on the Juke Box. I remember that the table covers were red and white checker, seems like yesterday!

My mother wasn't a "sausage person", however she always requested a Fiesta Pizza topped with Italian Beef and Onion. Joe would always make this pizza special for our family (for 30 years) and sit and chat with us. My other favorite was the Hot Italian Beef sandwich, with Mozzarella cheese and Pizza sauce on Garlic Bread. I also remember both of my daughters' baby photos on the Homewood Aurelio's wall wearing the Aurelio's Tee shirt. My daughters are now 15 and 16. (No, Pizza is not the Same out here in Northern California!) We are in desperate need of Aurelio's Pizza!

I was visiting family in Homewood,IL and Munster,IN three years ago from California. I stopped into the Homewood Aurelios and ordered a Fiesta Italian Beef and Onion Pizza for old times! My two daughters and fiancee wanted to know why eat at the Homewood Aurelios when we were also visiting friends in Munster, Indiana where there is a Lansing/Munster Aurelio's.) I replied that the Homewood Aurelio's is where it all began! I also replied that the Homewood Aurelio's has all of the ambience! and Still delicious as usual!

Like some many people who grew up in the H-F area Aurelio's was "the place to go for pizza". I remember the old pizzeria and going there with my family. Later the new store and going there with friends and dates. To this day it's still the best pizza that I have ever had.
RIP Joe. You are missed by many.

I have been living in Orange County, California for 18 years where there is NO AURELIO’S PIZZA! Each time I visit Homewood (I graduated from HF) I head straight for the Aurelio’s on Harwood Ave. A few weeks ago my wife’s cousins (family of 4) came to visit us from Helsinki Finland and they wanted to go to Las Vegas. While staying at the Luxor, we all took a ride down to see “Big Al” from Joliet at the Henderson, NV Aurelios and he set us up with the most righteous extra large half sausage & pepperoni, half roast beef & onion pizza pie! It was totally awesome and everyone just loved it! We were able to take our leftovers back to Orange County and when we arrived home, our cousins from Finland wanted to eat MORE! We all hit the sack and the next morning, we all finished up the rest for breakfast! Our cousins said it was the BEST pizza they ever had! I just want to say thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Big Al and all the nice people at the Henderson Aurelio’s for taking such good care of us! Bravo! We really need an Aurelio’s here in Orange County!

I had Aurelio's pizza shipped in for my dad's 82nd birthday. When we lived in Homewood he said that Aurelio's was the best pizza in the world. I have to agree. We haven't had it since we moved to Tulsa in 1977. So this was a special treat for him. My dad, Bernie was great friends with Joe. He was his insureance agent back in the day.
