Wakulich, James "Jim" Of Orland Park, IL departed this life February 27, 2013 to dwell in the House of Our Lord. Jim was freed from the pain and suffering he so courageously endured for the past decade due to major illnesses. Born in Chicago April 23, 1949 to John and Anna (nee Marcino) Wakulich. Jim's mother passed away when he was 3 years old. Jim was 14 years of age when his father died. He attended Chicago Public Schools. After high school graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps
. and was honorably discharged. Jim posessed love and talent for the drums. As a young man, he was drummer for numerous bands in the Chicago area. He was a fan and follower of Buddy Rich. He was an interior painter and security guard before illness forced him into early retirement. Jim found great comfort in reading and studying the Bible. He especially loved the 23rd Psalm. He enjoyed practicing drums and was looking forward to moving to a friend's home in the country so he could be free to play the drums where noise was not an issue. At the time of his death, he was taking music lessons at Marine Valley College. Jim was a quiet and kind man, and to the folks who took the time to truly know him, he was a friend for life. He found some good in everyone he met. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted friend and advocate, Maryjane Belk. Loyal brother of Stephen and Robert and the late Vera Livingston; proud uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and his dear cousins; a host of cherished friends. Preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his stepmother, Angela Wakulich and brothers, John and Paul. Memorial Services will be held April 25. Visitation 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with services following at 8:00 p.m. Officiated by Pastor Sam Lyons, Ashburn Baptist Church, 15401 South Wolf Rd. Orland Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ashburn Baptist Church or charity of donor's choice. Private interment at National Bohemian Cemetery, Chicago at a later date.
