Jacquelyn White(1938 - 2017)

White, Jacquelyn V. (nee Gallagher) Age 79, passed away on Noveber 23, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Jackie was born on May 7, 1938, in Chicago, IL, to the late Julia (Caterina) and Kenneth Gallagher. She attended Saint Patrick High School and Mundelein College. In 1959, Jackie worked for the Chicago Park District for 39 years. She attained Park Supervisor status and was manager of the City Wide Gymnastics Division, eventually retiring in 1998. Jackie married Thomas A. White in 1959. (Retired Chicago Police Sergeant, Area 3). They have three children and eleven grandchildren. Jackie enjoyed cooking, gardening, the ocean, and her dogs; however, family was the most important part of her life. She was creative, tenacious, and had a drive that served her well in life and in career. Survivors include her beloved husband, Thomas Austin White; sons, Thomas Austin (wife, Nancy Wilmarth), Michael Kenneth (wife, Dawn O'Keefe); daughter, Nancy Ann Flores (husband, Eduardo Flores); adored grandmother of Erin, Michael, Thomas, Kyle, Zachary, Bridget, Joshua, Kyra, Hugh, Aidan and Benen; cherished sister of Shirley Gallagher, Judy Schoenig (husband, Thomas), Kenneth Gallagher (wife, Patricia), Margaret Todd, (the late Eugene Todd); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Mass will be held December 16, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Saint Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox, IL.
