Hugh Semple

Semple, Hugh Foy 81, passed away December 23, 2013 after a short illness. Born in Chicago to George and Catherine (nee Foy) Semple. He leaves his wife of fifty years Roberta (nee Schultze); sister-in-law, Colette Ulaskas; and numerous nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, John, William and George; and survived by a sister. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. from Rosemoor Funeral: 17943 S. Torrence Ave. Lansing, IL 60438 to St Peter and Paul Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial followed by interment services at Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends will gather for a visitation on Friday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Hugh was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean War. He was an accomplished athlete, playing minor league baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers. A parishioner of St. Peter and Paul in Chicago, he served as an usher for many years.
