Edward Glugla

Glugla, Edward Richard Loving and devoted husband, to Geraldine Glugla, a caring and giving father to Michael and Nancy his children, is also survived by his grand-children Michelle Glugla-Salazar, as well as Chris and Jason Glugla, along with Gary and Steven Wagner. Edward was a great-grandfather to Emma Glugla and Haydn Lukas Salazar. Edward was born at the beginning of the Depression, in a family of 6 other children, with his sister Shirley and Ronnie as the remaining members still with us. He learned the value of self-sufficiency and saving that he imparted on his own family. Serving as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force during the Korean War, he married Gerry and returned home to serve another 27 years as an engineer with the Chicago Fire Department, driving one of the first snorkel trucks to enter into service. His enjoyment came from riding his bike about his neighborhood, watching sporting events with occasional trips to Tunica and Biloxi, where his luck didn't always hold up. He taught his children the value of discipline and respect for all, along with his own ability to laugh at himself when things did not go to plan. You were taken from us far too early Dad, and will be painfully missed always. Services to be at the Curlew Hills Gardens, 1750 Curlew Rd., Palm Harbor, FL 34683, between 6-8 PM, Friday, April 5, 2013.
