Johnson, Dicy Lee was born in Webster Parish in Louisiana on December 10, 1931 to the union of Tishie and Thomas Williams. She was the youngest of four children. Dicy and James Jeff Johnson, Sr. united in Holy Matrimony at Mount Olivet Baptist Church. Their lives were blessed with three children Regina (Nobie) Mercer, James Jeff Johnson Jr., and Linda (Rick) Flenoy. Dicy then attended and graduated from Madam C.J. Walker Beauty School in Chicago, IL. She became a Registered Beauty Culturist and partnered with her sister in owning and operating Sisters Beauty Shop.
