Chief Mariotti was my first of many Fire Chiefs at Tri-State Fire Protection District. I have many fond memories, one of moving furniture, another, one of my first fires that Chief Mariotti directed. We're on the second floor, fire everywhere and smoke to the floor. Chief Mariotti was at my side "gently" providing support and direction. The guy wasn't a sit in the car type of boss.

Well it's been two years since you passed, I hope your eternal rest has brought the good times again with GREAT FRIENDS and FAMILY!, YES, we still miss you but are thankful for the mark you have left on a whole bunch of us still here on earth. Thank You for his Son's and their families for sharing him with the Fire Service. Though a lot has changed here, it is good for us that we have the foundation that you set most of us on, and for that still forever Grateful!!

I'm sitting here reminiscing all the good
times Jim and I had with you, all the pranks we pulled on each other as couples (you and Patt) together with Ann and Dick Swanson and Sue and John Eversole, mostly at Illinois Fire Chiefs' conventions, but especially at IAFC conventions. I know you're up there flying with the angels now and with Patt and my Jim (if God allowed him entry); I hope you remembered to take your "special" pillow.
With Love, Prayers and Happy Memories,
Ruth and Jim (in spirit)
