Carol Pause Obituary

Pause, Carol Jean Age 85, passed away March 22, 2014. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, George and Eleanor (Wilkening) Pause, and her beloved sister, Lorna. Carol was born and raised in Chicago Heights and then moved to Park Forest in the early 1970's. Carol was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Chicago Heights, Illinois. Carol graduated from St. Paul's grade school, Bloom Township High School and attended Beloit College. Carol spent the last 40+ years of her professional life at the Harris Bank in Chicago where she was Vice President of Bonds/Trading. Carol was proud, yet humble of the fact that she was one of the first female bond traders in the country. Carol and her sister Lorna were inseparable and were very active their entire lives. They focused on serving their Lord and sharing their time and talents. Carol taught Sunday School for many years, and along with her sister served on various committees, wrote and directed Christmas pageants and other special productions. They especially enjoyed working on the St. Paul's Archives Committee and preserving the history of the church and school which were a focal point of their lives. Carol and Lorna enjoyed traveling the world, attending the symphony, theater, and especially enjoyed planning and hosting their annual Christmas party. Visitation Saturday, March 29th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 330 Highland Drive, Chicago Heights, IL. Interment St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Flossmoor, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carol and Lorna Pause Scholarship Endowment, c/o Concordia Seminary, 801 Seminary Place, St. Louis, MO 63105 or St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran School, 330 Highland Drive, Chicago Heights, IL 60411. 12/13/14 I just found out that Carol had passed away. She was my dearest friend from my childhood. I had a wonderful visit with her last Christmas. I will miss her greatly.
