Calvin J. Tobin

Tobin, Calvin Jay 86, of Highland Park. Beloved husband of 56 years to the late Joan Tobin; devoted and loving father of Michael (Nancy) Tobin and Nancy (Howard) London; incredible Poppa of Rebecca (Jonathan) Feldman, Matthew Tobin, and Michelle and Jacqueline London; dear brother of Bert (Nancy) Tobin and the late Saul (Susan) Tobin; cherished brother-in-law of Dorothy (Tom) Ungerleider; doting uncle and great-uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan, to which he dedicated a lifetime of service, including a term as President of the National Alumni Association and the oldest Alumni Football Cheerleader. He was a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. He was proud of his community service to the City of Highland Park and served as Chairman of the Appearance Review Commission, the Plan Commission, and 15 years as a City Councilman and Mayor Pro-Tem. Services Thursday 11 AM at North Shore Congregation Israel, 1185 Sheridan Rd., Glencoe. Interment Memorial Park.
