Gokey, Rosemary - Midland
Gokey, Rosemary Ann (Meyer) (Eavey) Age 78, died peacefully at home in Houston, Texas on June 30, 2015. A devout Catholic and loving mother, she was born in Chicago to Rose and John Meyer. A 1955 graduate of Immaculata High School, Rosemary loved living and working in Chicago for J.P. Morgan in the Wrigley Building. She married George Eavey, and they had four children. When the children were grown, she moved to Arizona, and soon after was courted by a longtime family friend, Dick Gokey, whom she married. In 2000, after his death, she moved to Florida to join childhood friends in retirement. Rosemary loved spending time with her friends at the pool, having coffee and volunteering in her community. In 2012, she relocated to Houston to be closer to her daughter, Mary. Rosemary is survived by many family members, including her four children, Mary Corrine (Robert) Walker, Michelle (Peter) Vouaux, Elizabeth Rivest, and George Eavey; her stepchildren, Jeff (Cathy) Gokey, John (Ruth) Gokey, Jim Gokey and Jerry Gokey. Her beloved grandchildren knew her as Nona: Alaina, Taylor, Morgan, Anna, and Bennett. Her step-grandchildren, Maria, Mike, Julie, Kelly, Brian and Jennifer. Rosemary looked for gracious moments in life and counted her many blessings often. She cared deeply for her family, friends and adored her dogs. For those who wish, donations can be made to Montgomery County Animal Shelter, 8535 Hwy 242, Conroe, TX 77385. Rosemary is now with angels and God in heaven. May she rest in peace.
