Cresto, Ronald F. Age 72, of Brookfield, formerly of Joliet, U.S. Army vet of the Vietnam War era, passed away suddenly January 21, 2015. Beloved husband of Margie (nee Zimmerman) Cresto; fond father of Scott (Jessica), Gregory (Margaret), and Douglas Cresto; loving grandfather of Katherine Rose Cresto; dear brother of Joanne Legerski and Mary (Joe) Babich; and brother-in-law of Judy Zimmerman and Christine Klaer; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass at St. Barbara Church, 4008 Prairie Ave., Brookfield, on Saturday, January 24 at 11:30 a.m. Private interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (Elwood, IL). Crisafulli, Dorothy Jane - Columbus  
Crisafulli, Dorothy Jane 95, of Evanston, IL passed away on January 1, 2015 in the presence of her family. Dorothy is survived by her four sons, Brian, Peter, Jeffrey, and Michael; and four grandchildren, Cynthia, Rebecca, Katherine, and Anna Lucia. Dorothy's husband, Frank, passed away in 1998. Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother. She passed her kindness, sensitivity, and integrity to her children and strongly influenced the people they became. She was a dedicated member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Evanston, IL, where she volunteered and served on the Vestry. She lived as a shining example of her Christian faith, and showed the utmost kindness to those who needed her, whether family, friends, or strangers. She enjoyed a number of hobbies, including making her own clothes, creating artwork in a variety of media, and especially gardening. She loved to travel, and was fortunate to enjoy exciting trips to Europe, Japan, China, Australia, Turkey, and most of the US. Dorothy is greatly missed by all who knew her, but we can all take comfort in the knowledge that she lived a wonderful life with her loving family, and that she is now at peace after a long life, well-lived. In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to The Sierra Club, The Kidney Foundation, or Disabled American Veterans. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 939 Hinman Ave., Evanston, IL 60202 at 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 30, 2015.

Dawson Sr., Stanley "Jerry" - Oak Lawn  
Dawson Sr., Stanley C. "Jerry" Age 87, of Oak Lawn, Illinois, the captain of our family ship, landed on that other shore January 23, 2015. Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Applin) for 65 beautiful years; loving father of Clyde (Karen), Donna (John Lalor), Gail (Pat) Staples, Tim, Stanley, Jr. (Kathy), and Michael (Mary); cherished grandfather of Kristin Tracz, Jesse and Peter Staples, Lindsey (Eddie) Brodsky, Alex, Megan, Joseph, and Emma Dawson, and step-granddaughter Candice (Josh) Hameister and their son, Jack; dear brother of the late Norval (Donna) and Marilyn Dawson (Charlie) Jarvis, and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Stan was born April 15, 1927, in Highland Park MI to Stanley H. and Ruth (Coller) Dawson. He graduated high school early to serve in the U.S. Navy in World War II. Following his service, he married Marilyn Applin, on April 23, 1949, then graduated from Lawrence Institute of Technology, Highland Park MI, with a bachelor of business administration in 1950. He and his brother, Norval were partners in a television and electronics store, Park Magnavox, in Evergreen Park IL, which remained in business 48 years. He was a member of School Board District 123 and the Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce, and served on the Board of Directors of Oak Lawn Trust and Savings Bank for many years. He was very generous toward the community, active in many organizations such as the Oak Lawn Kiwanis Club, Salvation Army and Oak Lawn VFW. For several years, he worked with Hines VA hospital to organize boat trips on Lake Michigan for blind veterans. He loved boating, fishing and travel. Upon his passing, his wife, Marilyn, said, "This is a sad day. But the love is never gone." A memorial will be held Saturday, January 31, at 11:00 a.m. at Salem United Church of Christ, 9717 S. Dickman, Marvin J. - Buffalo Grove  
Dickman B.S., M.A.S., M.S., Marvin J. Adoring husband of Susie (nee Merlander) Dickman for 47 years; cherished father of Alyssa Dickman, Rabbi Reni (Aaron Nessel) Dickman; adored zayde of Gabriel and Tori. Marvin spent his entire career of 35 years as a CPA working at Arthur Andersen & Co. He was admitted to the partnership in 1976 using his expertise in small business and tax. Upon his retirement from AA&Co., he studied for a degree in Jewish Sudies at the University of Chicago. He then taught Jewish History at several synagogues, and JCC's. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Juvenile Protective Agency, The Museum of Broadcast Communications, Olin Sang Ruby Union Institute, Congregation B'nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim, The National Board of URJ, (formerly UAHC), Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion Board of Overseers, President, Board of Jewish Education of Metropolitan Chicago 1989-1991, Illinois Humanities Council (appointed by Gov. Quinn). Presently, he was a board member of The Chicago Jewish Historical Society, The Ezra Consortium of the American Jewish Archives, and The Chicago Dramatists. An old-radio enthusiast, he has enjoyed giving programs on the "Good Old Days." Services Thursday 10 a.m. at Congregation B'nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim, 1201 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield.
