Boeman, Russell Warren "Buck" 91. Having passed on August 15, beloved husband of Virginia nee Kramer, loving father of Jacquiline (Michael) Mosk, Sandra (William) Haggerty, Russell R. (Judith) and Richard. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Robert III, Scott (Mandy), Eric (Victoria), Shaun, Chris (Samantha), Sarah, Gabe, Elizabeth, Nicholas, and step-grandchildren Darlene (Dan), and Julie (Ken). Dear brother of the late Bertha (the late Donald) Haley, Shirley (the late William) Croft, the late John (Lucille) and Phyllis (the late William) Perring. Fond great-grandfather of 12, uncle to many nieces and nephews. Born in Cullom, IL to Winifred and George Boeman. He served as a Lieutenant in the Naval Air Corps, maintained a lifelong membership of American Legion Skinner Trost Post #122 of Cullom, retired as superintendent of the tool and dye department of Wyman Gordon Steel in Harvey, served as a volunteer fireman for Crete Township, was a past member of the Crete School Board, and a past elder of Zion United Church of Christ. Starting as a young boy, Buck enjoyed fishing and hunting, with many trips to Canada and Wisconsin as an adult with his family and friends. Though he played golf, admittedly not well, he thoroughly enjoyed watching it on TV until the day of his passing. Memorial service will be held at Zion United Church of Christ 14804 W 113th Ave., Dyer, IN, Sunday, September 15 at 1:00 PM followed by a luncheon in the church community center. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) or Autism Speaks. Cremation Society of Illinois is handling the arrangements.
