Lawrence DeCaluwe Obituary

DeCaluwe, Lawrence R. Age 91, of Lisle, IL, formerly of Park Ridge, IL, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013. Lawrence served his country in the Navy during WWII. Lawrence married the love of his life, Naomi (nee Smith), on February 5, 1944. They enjoyed their life together, raising their three children as they enjoyed remodeling their homes and their paradise in the north woods of Wisconsin. They enjoyed getting together with friends and family, and loved to go to their local Moose Lodge for ballroom dancing. Lawrence literally loved to watch his grass grow as he puttered around the yard and sat in his lawn chair and sipped his beer very slowly. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Naomi, as well as his children, Karen (Kenneth) Schmalbach and Craig (Debbie) DeCaluwe. His son, Gary (Mary) preceded him in death, as well as his parents, Mabel and Alfred DeCaluwe. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lynn (James) Misolunas, Michael, Scott (Jenni), Steven (Heather), Gwen (Michael) Hockemeyer, Nicholas (Bethany), Jeffrey (Melissa) Schmalbach, and Meredith (Nathan) Vollmer. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren. Visitation 3 until 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at the Beideleman-Kunsch Funeral Home & Crematory, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville. Visitation 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Service, 11 a.m. Thursday, at Villa St. Benedict, 1920 Maple Ave., Lisle. Interment private. I'm sorry for your loss,

I am sorry for your loss. Death is the opposite of life. God can awaken those who have died just as surely as you can awaken a person from sleep. Mark 5:22,23,41,42. Sarah/Ohio
