Thaddeus Zawacki Obituary

Zawacki, Thaddeus J. 91, of South Haven, Michigan, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at his home. He was born in 1922 to Steve and Mary (Bamiewicz) Zawacki in Chicago, Illinois. Thaddeus served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He fought in the Pacific Theatre with the 11th Airborne Division. Thaddeus married Pauline Lancy on February 23, 1943. Thaddeus worked as a fireman for the Chicago Fire Department for 25 years until he retired in 1980. He enjoyed playing card games such as poker and pinochle, and he enjoyed watching war and old western movies. Thaddeus was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pauline; his daughter, Susan, and his four brothers and one sister. He is survived by his children, Paula (Ronald) Paluch of South Haven, Michigan, and Penelope (Thomas) Falcon of Farmington Hills, Michigan; his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Erin) Falcon and Brian (Marla) Falcon, and his great-grandchildren, Ava, Jayden and Jaxon Falcon. There are no services scheduled at this time. Memorial donations can be made to the South Haven's Hospice at Home.
