Not sure what to say?

On the anniversary of Gig's passing, his energy is still alive. As evidence, it´s amazing how many times I say to my kids, "let´s blow this popsicle stand!" I´m not even sure what that means. But Jim used to say that all the time while we were roomies. I´ve been saying it for over 40 years now! So yeah. I still think of him often. I wish we had stayed in touch.

I was sorry to hear of James passing. He & his family used to be my neighbors in the community of Bridgeport in Chicago for a long time. His dad Vincenzo was a commercial painter in the loop along with Mr. Giambelaro. May they all rest in peace.

Jim was an extraordinary man. I just found out he passed almost two years ago. He had a spirit about him that goes beyond mortality, as his classmate I will always recall his humor and point of view. I am sorrowed that it took two years to happen upon this sad news.

James and I worked together at the Jenny Jones Show. He was quiet, respectful, kind, dependable, a rock. I never knew of all his accomplishments because he was so modest. My deepest condolences to James' family. RIP, old friend.

Jim was my plebe year roommate in Company E-3 at West Point. We had many memorable moments together. He was a good companion, strong, fun-loving and supportive. He was always kind to everyone, even during the most challenging times. He is missed.

Plebes together at West Point, Jim and our E-3 classmates and I shared a frightful and fun-filled year. Jim was always - yes, always! - a good friend, kind of heart and caring for all, especially those of us who needed the most help. What a life - Illinois, West Point, Augsburg, Boston, and Hong Kong! People of China, know that you had one of America's best, Jim La Giglia, for these 20 years, and what a great treat he was for you! Family of Jim, know that we loved Jim in that most challenging of times at West Point, and we love him still today. May the mercy and power and glory of Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, embrace Jim in His Eternal Home!

I also knew Jim (James) from West Point and remember his kindness, humor, and hardwork very fondly. Jim was a great classmate and friend, and always a pleasure to be around. We will miss you and always remember you, Jim.

Jim and I were in the same Platoon during Camp Buckner way back in the summer of 1982. Jim was a great friend and always made the day lighter with his sense if humor. He would always say "Aerosmith" instead of the standard "Air Assault"

I am saddened by his departure but glad to call him a friend and fellow classmate!

I am one of Jame's West Point classmates. I fondly remember his commitment to his responsibilities as a cadet. From academics to athletics, he consistently did his best. So sorry to learn of his passing.

I worked with James for 4 years in Hong Kong and sat beside him on the daily news desk for two of the years I spent at TVB. James was always helpful to the people around him and had a big heart. We had some good laughs together and he taught me a lot about American politics and financial reporting, both of which he had a keen interest in. RIP, James.
