Adams, Pastor James Richard Passed away peacefully at the University of Chicago's Bernard Mitchell Hospital, on Monday, January 28, 2013. Loving husband of 42 years of Ernestine (nee Reed). Devoted father of Ratasha Jeanine and her husband Calvin Mays Jr. Survived by his sisters, Essie M. Thompson, Annie R. Johnson, Jane A. Crossley and Robbie L. Weathington and brother Jason E. Adams. Predeceased by his sisters, Mary Gaston and Sylvia J. Robinson and brother, Louis B. Adams. Son of the late Homer Esco and Mary L. Adams, James was born into this life on December 17th, 1946. He was educated at the General Motors Institute (Flint, MI) and the Illinois Institute of Technology where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He began his life-long employment with Commonwealth Edison in 1970. He was the founder of Abounding Life Church of God In Christ in Posen, Illinois, where he served as pastor for 31 years. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 9:30am and Sunday, February 3, 2013 at 4:00pm at the Abounding Life Church of God In Christ, 14615 Mozart, Posen, Illinois. He was a save and sanctified preacher who stood for holiness and down to earth a great man of faith and prayer and well loved I miss my brother and friend he was one of a kind and a great musician singer and songwriter!

Pastor Adams was truly a man of God.I had been sort of sitting on the fence with regards to submission to God until I visited his church.He pulled me onto God's side through inspiring worship services.I know the Good Lord is extremely happy to have him in His kingdom.Mother Ernestine,take heart for the pastor is in great hands.
