Nine years. We're still waiting for the tears not to come Dad, but they do. We smile, we laugh, and we cry but through it all we remember. We remember your life, your stories, your skill, your heroism, and, unfortunately, we remember the day we lost you. We mourn you daily, but we love you more, and everyday we remember you keeps you alive in our hearts. Mom is with you now, she came to you just a few short weeks ago, and I'm sure you know, as much as she loved life, and loved all of us, and she struggled each day to stay alive, but in reality she couldn't wait to be with you again. She missed you dearly every day. She told me, her lips to my ears, she missed you so much, and when the time drew near for her to pass, she told me she wanted to find you and spend time just with you. Take care of each other. We love you both.

Eight years has passed and our hearts are still heavy and missing you every day. We know you still are watching over us and we look for signs from you that you are there. We still have your chair open! We will love and miss you, always, Dad. Rest easy in heaven. xoxo

It's been a week Dad and it is still so surreal. We miss your laughter, we miss your stories and even miss your naps. Everyone is doing their best to celebrate your life rather than grieve your absence. Our tears will dry but we will always miss you. Our comfort is in knowing your suffering had ended so smile and we'll smile with you. Take it easy up there, we know your probably tearing it up with your family and friends. We all love you and miss you.
