Aunt Esther was an icon for us. Visiting her apartment above Gramma Sarah's, with the best view of the city, and always Frango Mints. She had such great strength, and kindness, and, like Gramma, an unwavering dedication to family. I am so proud to be a part of Aunt Esther's family. My thoughts are with the whole family.

Aunt Esther was mother's buddy. They lived their lives together. They called each other each morning at ten, planned their days together as well as their recipes, shopping orders, knitting,Frango mints, nuts, and their families. They both loved their families. They also loved each other and sometimes were rather tough on each other. I could always count on my dear Aunt Esther for a piece of coffee cake or spice cake and a tune on the piano.
When my mother died, I knew that I could visit Aunt Esther at 260 E. Chestnut where I was known as Miss Rhode Island and feel a little closer to my mother. She would share more stories about their years growing up, the music lessons, the dates, the dances, the car, the fun. I will treasure all of these memories and hope that they provide comfort to Ann and Lee and Mel and the all the rest. Love Terri and Don
