Williams, Erivon L. Age 65, of Chicago, IL passed away May 4, 2014 at his home. He was born April 18, 1949 in Tamms, IL, the son of Lola Hodges. He graduated from John Marshall High School Summer Class of 1967; immediately volunteering for service in the U.S. Army, earning both a Bronze Star and Purple Heart in Vietnam. He completed his education in Chicago, attending the University of IL, receiving a BA in Sociology. He later applied this study of human behavior to a long-term career of 28 years with the Cook County Department of Corrections as a Deputy Sheriff. He leaves to mourn him, his wife of 31 years, Carolyn G. Williams; children, LaShawn Gentry, Kenyatta Snulligan (Deion), and Kamilah Brewton (Aaron). His mother and his best-friend (shih-tzu mix), Lilly preceded him in death. He also leaves 8 grandchildren, L'Oreal, Tevin, Isaiah, Diamond, Steve, Courtney, Deion and Saige; and a host of family and friends. A veteran's burial will be held at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

I miss you. Although you were not my father, you were just my cousin, but you were at all of my events. You were my father figure. I do not have closure as I not given the option to say goodbye. But I guess I won´t ever say goodbye because you stay in my memory always. I love you.
