Matthew Rose Obituary

Rose, Matthew Beloved husband of Jennifer (Redus), and big brother to James, also known as 'Beethoven' to his college buddies, passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2014 due to complications from Multiple Myeloma. A talented pianist, and keyboardist, Matt accompanied a number of prominent R&B acts including the O'Jays and R. Kelly. In 2001, Matt received a Grammy nomination as co-producer of "For the Love" with the O'Jays. A passionate music student, Matt graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy and obtained a B.A. in music composition from The University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). Matt inspired the next generation of artists as a music teacher at Peck Elementary School in Chicago and children's choir director at St. Mark United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 30th at St. Mark United Methodist Church located at 8441 S. St. Lawrence in Chicago, IL beginning at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Matt Rose Memorial Fund For Multiple Myeloma Research: http://support.themmrf.org/goto/Matt_Rose
