I could never possibly thank Joyce enough for all she did over the many years, not just for Second City and those who were fortunate enough to work there with her, but for our families, and fans of comedy everywhere.
My deepest sympathy to Cheryl, the rest of her family, and all of Joyce's countless friends. She'll always live on in our very fond memories.

Cheryl, I did not know your mother well, but whenever I saw her at Second City she would never fail to recognize me and speak glowingly of my son, TJ.

She was an outstanding woman and certainly her presence at SC will linger forever,

My deepest sympathies to Cheryl and family. Joyce was a wonderful, warm sparkling prescence at the theater. She completely embraced me and welcomed me into the fold when I subbed in for an absent cast member. I will always remember our chats in her office and the way she lived her life. She really made a huge impression on me. I am so privileged to have known her.

As a stranger to the Second City management and cast of players,
you alone embraced me and welcomed me to the world of Chicago comedy.
For that I always be in your debt.
Sleep well, my friend.

Dear Cheryl, my condolences to you and your family. Your mother was wonderful to my brother Jim during his Second City years. She meant a great deal to him. We especially appreciated her kind words at my dad's wake and then again five years later at Jim's wake and funeral. You were so blessed to have her as your mom.

Cheryl and Family,
I have such fond memories of Joyce and Jacque and Sam at the bus stop as we left to venture off to Harand Camp. Sometimes candy would appear in my pockets! You unselfishly allowed your Mom to be everyone's Mom, and for that, I will always thank you. She was iconic, but she will always be the Mom with the heart of gold. You were truly blessed to have each other.
May her memory be forever a blessing.
Fondly,
Gigi, Robert and Jared Ramis

Dear Cheryl,
It is with great sadness that I learned of the loss of your beloved mother.
She was such a wonderful, talented, kind, and caring person and my family and I have fond and loving memories of her. She was also very special (as were you) to my dear Aunt Ida and Uncle Sam Sloane of blessed memory as well as to my beloved parents, Irving and Gloria Chanenson. I also lost my dear mother this past year and my heart goes out to you as I know how terribly difficult it is to lose one's parents. Your mother was an amazing woman and she leaves a beautiful legacy. May G-d give you strength at this sad time.
With heartfelt sympathy.
