Thank you to everyone who has written in this guest book. I am Don's wife and my kids and I find great comfort in what you have written about him. He was as amazing as you remember him from whenever you knew him. He was our rock and protector. He always took care of us. We are forever grateful for the times we had with him but are heartbroken with his absence now. He will forever be in our hearts and his legacy will live on! We love you forever babe! Thank you for loving us and taking care of us...even in your absence. Forever in our hearts! Judi, Kate, Gabe and Shane. <3

It is very sad to hear about Don's passing. I lived across the street from the Fox family as a little girl. It seems silly, but I always remembered that Don cheered me on when I was in 5th grade and was in a fist fight with a boy afterschool. Thank you, Don for encouraging a scared little girl. Because you were there, I felt that you would not allow me to be defeated or hurt. It was something I always remembered. :)

My heart goes out to the Fox family in their loss. Don was an Amazing Kid growing up, and appears to have been a better man. I remember him riding his 10 speed bike to fire calls, and it seemed he always got there well before the fire dept :) Fond memories of hanging out, and growing up with him in the neighborhood. He is a true Hero and amazing person.

I met Don when he was a teenager on Richton Park FD. All he ever talked about was wanting to become a Firefighter. I am glad that I was there with him during that time frame. I did seventeen years with you Mr. Fox and enjoyed them all. It was wonderful to have been your friend and I will be seeing you down the road. There are many wonderful folks up there in heaven and you will be well cared for my friend.

Best High School Football Player and Person I ever coached. He not only motivated his teammates around him but highly motivated me as well. Feared player throughout the South Suburbs. He carried that spark throughout his life. It was contagious. Everyone that knew Donnie was a better person because of it. It is a sad day for me and for all that knew him. Ron North

Today a little butterfly flew by me.
I thought to myself where have you been little butterfly.
You come into this world as a cocoon all by yourself and blossom into
this beautiful butterfly and fly off to see the world.
What you don't realize little butterfly as you flutter through your days
is how you touch those around you in your soft gentle way.
You don't even realize the wonder and awe you create around you.
He fluttered his wings toward me as if he was waving good-by as he
headed towards the horizon.
He looked very happy and content as he went on his way, as if to say
to me “Don't worry I'll be okay”.
I was sad to see him go for he had touched my heart in such a way that
I knew my life would never be the same.
He had left an imprint of all the beauty life has to offer.
I knew each time I looked at another butterfly or horizon I would
remember a moment in time.
I knew I would be a better person all because this little butterfly flew by
me one bright sunny day.
