I have many fond memories of my mom bringing me to Dr. Abderholden as a boy. He got me through many childhood colds and even gave me my first cast!
Funny I stumbled upon this when I did, after so many years...

Our family sends its deepest sympathy. After moving from Chicago in 1963, I began going to Dr. Ed before he moved his practice to Orchard Street. He was always a caring soul, with a good sense of humor who was genuinely interested in you and your family. He treated us and all four of our children and my mother. My uncle lived next to him and I attended St. Peter's Church so I had an opportunity to see him and his family. He was a good doctor, family man, and supporter of our community. He will be missed.

My most heartfelt condolences go out to the entire Abderholden Family. For a family to endure one death is hard enough but two in a months time, is a very difficult fact to deal with. May all the prayers that are going out for you, help in all the ways needed.
I feel very honored to have had the opportunity to walk this earth with a man of such esteem, as Dr Ed. As my mother and brother have already said "he wasn't just our family doctor, he was a dear family friend". Dr Ed became our family doctor when I was about 3 or 4 years old and we moved from Pleasant Prairie to Antioch and that is over 40 years ago. He was a doctor you could trust to be honost and forthcoming. Both Dr Ed and Dr Lorang always made you feel comfortable and like you truly counted. They worked well together.
Our families became friends outside of the medical practice because every time we went to visit our grandparents, we got to see the Abderholden family. They happened to live next door to each other, up on the big hill! We have many years of very good memorys.
You all are in my daily thoughts and prayers. May you have solice in the fact that both Dr Ed and Mark are back together and not hurting anymore. They're probably hunting for them good ole pheasant.
God's speed and take care all.

He was my families doctor since childhood. At my sister's wedding at St. Peter's I fainted and my dad paniked, put me in the car to go the office. The office was closed and drove to Dr. Abderholden's house. He stopped cutting the grass and came to the backseat of the car to look at me. He always had time for everyone.

My family started going to Orchard in 1969. He was more than a doctor to us, he was a True Friend. I'm an over the road truck driver, and remember him coming into the room, then talking about truck driving and where i have been. Our lives have been blessed knowing him, and the wonderful care he offer us. Our sincere condolences to the family, and the staff at Orchard Medical Center

We will truly miss a very great man. He had delivered most of our children and was our doctor while we were still in Antioch. He was a classic example of a family physician who displayed passion and concern for his clients' health and welfare. Our deepest sympathy, prayers and condolences are extended to his family. May he rest in peace.

I'm so sorry to hear of Dr. Abderholden's passing. He took care of my parents, my brother and myself for many years. I was (and still am) grateful for the care and concern he gave my father while he fought a losing battle with COPD. I truly believe my dad would not have lived as long as he did without his care. Always remember, there are so many people that loved and respected Dr. Abderholden, and will always remember how much he cared about them. He will be greatly missed.

When we moved to Antioch, Dr. Ed became our family doctor. This relationship continued for over 30 years. He was the best!
I remember one time when I was at the office to see him, he read my patient number, and with a laugh, he said to me "you know something Sheila, you have been here almost as long as I have". He was right, he became our family doctor 5 years afer he opened his office.
Another time he was telling me about his mother always making him and his sister take cod liver oil every day, and how he hated it. So therefore, he did not eat fish. Then he and his sons went to Canada or Alaska on a fishing trip. They cooked the fish over the fire and he said it was delicious...so he said, now I love it. He never made you feel like he didn't have time to take care of you and also care enough to share part of his life with you.
He was always kind, gentle, caring, and loving with everyone that I know that had the privilege of being one of his patients. One of the hardest days was when he decided to retire, although I know his wife, Dolores, was probably the only happy person there. I have to admit that this is a much harder time. There are many heavy hearts and tears today because of our great loss. I can not imagine the loss to his family. Our sympathies, hearts and prayers are with each and eveyone of them. May our Dear Lord give each one a peace that can only come from Him. God Bless, Bob and Sheila Schroeder

Not only a wonderful doctor, with a great sense of humour, but, as mentioned, a great traveller. He looked me up when he was in Edinburgh where i was starting my carer in the theatre, and we had a wonderful evening laughing and, well it was Scotland, a drink to "all we loved and cared for". the world was a good place when Dr Abderholden was around.
