Glascott OSF, Sister Mary Ann (1937 - 2013) Died at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, Joliet, Illinois on August 2, 2013. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Mary O'Malley and Lawrence Glascott. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, John, Edward and Dennis. She is survived by her brothers, Lawrence (Mary Alice) of La Canada, CA, James (Jo Ann), Robert, and Timothy (Maureen) of Chicago; sisters-in-law, Mary Glascott and Therese Glascott of Chicago and Virginia Glascott of San Antonio, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews. Sister Mary Ann was a treasured member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate (Joliet) for 59 years. Sister Mary Ann attended St. Clement Grade School and Immaculata High School in Chicago. She graduated from St. Francis Academy (now Joliet Catholic Academy) in Joliet, Illinois. She received her bachelor's degree from the College of St. Francis (now University of St. Francis) in Joliet and her master's degree from the University of Notre Dame. After teaching seven years at St. Ann in Lansing, IL, Sister Mary Ann spent 23 years in Brazil as a missionary where she ministered as a Teacher, Principal, Catechist and Pastoral Minister. Following her work in Brazil, Sister served as Director of Religious Education at St. Bartholomew Parish in Chicago and St. John Brebeuf in Niles, IL and in Pastoral Ministry at Northwestern Hospital. The wake for Sister Mary Ann will be at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, 1201 Wyoming Avenue, Joliet, IL, (Wyoming and Rt. 30) on Thursday, August 8, from 2:00 - 6:45 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 4:45 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Procession will leave from Our Lady of Angels on Friday, August 9, at 9:00 a.m. The Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, Illinois.
