Dear Bertha and family:
I first met Joe when I began working at Wrigley Field as an usher in 2004. He worked the Family Room and was such a gentle, caring man.
Everyone loved and liked Joe. The wives and girl friends of the ball players loved him. The children of the players loved him. He always had their tickets ready so when they wanted to watch the game, he was ready for them.
He was admired by the baseball players and staff alike. Such a quiet gentle man who had a sparkle in his eye and a smile on his face. Mike Hill, in particular, had great admiration for Joe.
It wass my distinct privilege to know and work with Joe.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I shall never forget him as long as I live.
Sincerely,
John McKenzie

Poppa will be dearly missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with Momma and the entire Blaha family.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
- an old gaelic blessing
