Hannon, William "Bill" Patrick 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Joliet Community Hospice House surrounded by loved ones. He was born July of 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Peter and Martha Hannon. Bill attended Our Lady of Angles Elementary School and graduated from Saint Mel's Catholic High School in Chicago in 1955. After high school, he attended college at Bradley University in Peoria and University of Dayton at Ohio where he studied Business Management. Bill was a founding member and twice President of the Schaumburg Jaycee's. Bill had a passion for the sports. He was a proud member of the 1954 St. Mels High School City Championship Basketball team, and played football at Dayton University. His favorite pastime was watching football with friends and family and attending Notre Dame games with his children and grandchildren. In 1973, Bill and his teammates of the Whips played in the Two Hand Touch National Championship tournament in St. Louis, Missouri. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Martha Hannon; sister, Elizabeth Hannon and spouses, Mary Boniface Hannon and Suzan Pritchard Hannon. Bill is survived by his daughter, Mary (Scott) Lippman of La Jolla, CA; daughter, Patricia, (Tuk), Hannon Nedrow of Ashton, ID, son, Michael (Karen) Hannon of Minooka, IL; stepson, Thomas (Cindy) McKinney of Windsor, CA; son, William (Renee) Hannon of Plainfield, IL; daughter, Deirdre (Michael) Hannon Cherry of Woodbridge, VA; his brother, Peter (Coby) Hannon of Fontana, WI; sister, Michelle (Richard) Hannon Dousman of Lake Forest, IL; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
