Carpenter, Donald A. beloved husband of Kathleen "Kay", dear father of Susan (Joe) Macak, Joanne (Clifford) Bedar, Jack (Shelly) and Kevin (Susanne), grandfather of Joe IV, Heather, Jaclyn, Jonathan, Lily, Katie, Ben, Aileen and Christian, brother of Geri Durkin and Arlene (Ray) McGuire and the late James (Nancy). Retired after 39 years from Boilermakers Union Local #1 and American Legion Post #1080. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to the A.L.S. Foundation. Funeral service Thursday, at 11 a.m., from Lack & Sons Funeral Home, 9236 S. Roberts Rd. (8000W), Hickory Hills, to Sacred Heart Church, 8200 W. 111th St. for 11:30 a.m. Mass. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum. Visitation Wednesday, 3 to 9 p.m. 708-430-5700.
