I met Dennis and Carol in NYC when we were caring for their niece Jean Broom more than 10 years ago. This was the beginning of a later-life friendship that was warm and stimulating. Although I was living in Japan and later NYC, we stayed in touch and met whenever we had an opportunity. We shared a love of books and discourse. I always looked forward to being with them in their lovely home or over restaurant meals and will miss being in his presence.
