Paul was not just a cousin to me, he was like a best friend in many ways. After high school, our families had to move out to Crystal Lake, IL in 1960, because my father found this beautiful piece of farm land at the corner of Route 31 and Three Oaks Road, later to be valued and sold for millions of dollars. Anyway, my father promised to buy me a horse, Paul already had one. So, we'd come home from school, head to the barn, clean the stalls, brush the horses, and ride, gossiping all along the way. Of course laughter was a big part of this everyday happening. When Paul got his driver's license, his father bought him a turquoise and white Dodge Rambler! What a car---very noticeable, but for me, a ride to and from school, and more gossip and stories. This was our high school days, and only a fraction of the time spent together. I miss him so much. Paul was my first cousin, closest to me by age. We were four months apart. We grew up together and remained close throughout his short life. We shared many happy memories. He was my confidant and very special best friend. I can't believe I won't be hearing his fine sense of witty humor anymore. We made each other laugh for hours. I loved him very much. My life will never be the same without him. Love, Nancy
