I knew Audrey when I worked at J. Howard & Associates but I would have lost track if not for regular reports from our mutual friend Donna Bivens. I have kept Audrey in my heart and will continue to remember her and send love and strength to you, her devoted family. Though I've not met you, your giving is inspiring.

Eddie and Nubia,
I first met Audrey when she worked as Associate Director of Admissions at Wellesley College and I was a freshman in 1978. She was one of a few women of color as campus staff and definitely was one of the first WAAD I got to know personally. I worked with her on a Minority Admissions Brochure she produced in 1979. Over the many years since there were many other interactions. I'm very glad we were able to maintain contact through Facebook over this last year. Her bright smile and her perfect poise are unforgettable. May your memories comfort you in the days to come.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Audrey's passing. She was such a sweet and gentle person with a radiant smile; always so poised, "real", and full of grace. There is no doubt that Audrey was a gem who will always be missed and never forgotten. I pray that her family and all who mourn will be comforted by the legacy of love and kindness she left behind.

Dear Ed and Nubia,

I met Audrey when I was a freshman at Wellesley. She got me involved with admissions and she and I went to several college fairs (me a bright eyed student in awe of the awesome alum and admissions officer at my side). I always remember her bright smile and warm spirit. She opened her heart and home to me and always made me feel like family. I am so saddened by her loss but am so comforted by my fond memories of her and the knowledge that she touched so many lives in a positive way. May God bless you and may each day that passes ease your pain.

Audrey was fierce in the best way--fiercely loving, fiercely protective, fiercely loyal. Eddie and Nubia are the people who deserved that devotion, and they returned it in full. My heart goes out to both of you, and to Audrey's extended family and countless numbers of friends and colleagues.

Audrey had the purest of spirits. There was just a kindness and peace about her that was almost tangible. My first job after graduating from Wellesley in 1983 was as a college admissions officer for a university in my home town. I saw Audrey regularly on the recruiting circuit, and she was always, always.gracious helpful, and reassuring. I always looked forward to seeing her bright, warm smile when we met on the road. I am so saddened by her loss. But I know as memorable as she was to me in the brief time she touched my life, for family and friends closest to her, this loss must surely be deep. I am praying for peace for each of you.

Eddie and Nubie
Nell has entered a new home our eternal home above with her mother the heavenly gate has opened wide to welcome her. We can't help the tears that fall our hearts need time to grieve when earthly life had ended and Nell has to leave. Yet even in the saddest time we know our Savior lives and we can trust completely in the promise that He gives that in a glad reunion with the lord our Nell waits to welcome us in joy with no more tears beyond the gate.
