Memories and Condolences
for John Zitek

Not sure what to say?

We still reminiscence and repeat stories about Uncle John (and Aunt Glor). They were an important part of our family life My daughter, Kimberly, who he'd tease often and call her "Millie", just brought home a new puppy. This sweet little furry girl is named Millie! Always thinking of you, Uncle John. You were the best! Love, Garry and Denise

Thinking of you and Gloria. Can't believe it's 7 years. Just talking about all the great memories from our Florida times this would be around the time we would go around Gloria birthday. To say I miss you both goes without saying. I loved you as my parents and will always treasure all the special memories and times we got to share. My heart is sad but I know you are in a much better place. Love Julie

John was a wonderful guy and he will be missed by all who knew him. I retired from the Chicago Police department in 1996 and became Chief of Police of Riverside. John was one of the first chiefs to call me to wish me well. During the 12 years I was Chief I could always count on John's great advice and humor. I also remembered when I was a Narcotics unit commander in CPD working with John's son who was in ATF. Both John and his son were great law enforcement officers! My prayers are with you during this difficult time!

As a young detective in the mid 70s I had the honor and privilege of working for and with John. He was an extrodinary supervisor and and even more remarkable man. As a result of his generous spirit and gifts of time and talent we eveolved to become friends for the past 35 years or so. He will truly be missed. I pray that the Sarcred Heart of Christ welcomes John to heaven and that God's grace of peace and comfort residfe with his family.
