Not sure what to say?

Bob led his life as the epitome of an Irish Catholic Gentleman. It was a privilege to experience 14 years as a classmate through St. Sabina's grammar school '52-60, Leo H.S. '64, Xavier U. in Cincinnati, Oh '68 and playing at Cook School's "stadium" basketball, softball etc. slacking our thirst sometimes with adult beverages & sating our hunger with White Castle "belly bombers" fried onion covered sliders, always fun with the unbounded enthusiasm of youth & with the eternal optimism life inspired! Through Bob's life mate & eternal love, Patricia Cook Baal, our gang met & had the good fortune to get to know many of her friends, the classy young Ladies of St. Thomas Moore & Mother McCauley who quickly became friends, sometimes dates & even our wives..
Bob practiced law with the dogged determination to his duty as an excellent counselor, wise adviser & true friend helping all who needed his support. We all owe Bob a giant debt of gratitude for being there in our times of need. Such a man was he, a real kind & sincere person. We all miss him dearly left with the wonderful memories & firm knowledge that he has received his eternal reward with Our Lord for eternity & with the hope of joining the Saints in the celebration of Grace.

DEAR PATTY AND FAMILY
I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I GOT THE CALL FROM PAUL DYER ABOUT BOB'S DEATH. I SPENT 3 WONDERFUL YEARS AT XAVIER AS BOB'S ROOMMATE. WE SPENT QUITE A FEW HOURS AT DANA'S TOGETHER. I ALWAYS LOOKED FORWARD TO TALKING WITH BOB WHENEVER I WAS IN THE CHICAGO AREA. I AM SURE BOB WAS A GREAT FATHER AND HUSBAND AND WILL BE MISSED.

I am truly saddened by this news. Bob and I were young lawyers at Tim Harrington's office. After going our separate ways We would have a hurried lunch or quick cup of coffee. Bob was always knowledgeable, practical and professional. He will be missed. Gene Jobin

Bob was a warrior in the court room. I had breakfast with him very recently across the street from the Daley Center while we were both killing time before our next cases were up. You would never know he was sick. He never complained. He was one of the true gentleman of the profession, and his word was his bond. He will be missed greatly. R.I.P., Bob.
