Anfinson, Elizabeth Jane long time Edina, MN resident, died Friday, April 6, 2007 at Saint Anne Extended Healthcare, Winona, MN. Born April 18, 1913 in Staples, MN., to Frank and Esther McGivern. Betty graduated from St. Cloud Teacher's College and subsequently taught in Cass Lake, Two Harbors and Brainerd. She married Adolph A. Anfinson in 1942. They moved to Minneapolis where he practiced dentistry until his death in 1971. Betty served as state president of the Minnesota Dental Auxiliary, was an active member of the Minneapolis and Edina Women's Clubs, Chapter AP, PEO, and a 50 year member of Orchid Chapter, O.E.S. An avid bridge player, she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, travel and attending concerts and plays. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth and a sister, Marion Stone. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Amundson, daughter, Ruth Ellen Bures (Frank); grandsons, Frank (Bridgit), Robert (Karen) and Joseph (Anna) Bures; great grandchildren, Elizabeth (Libby) and Aiden, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Remembrance service on Sat , April 14, 2007 at 10 AM at Lake Harriet United Methodist Church, 4901 Chowen Ave So., Minneapolis. Friends may call at the church from 9-10 AM on Sat.
